So I painted some shoes for money last summer. I set up an Etsy.com shop. It worked alright. I just didn't have a steady supply of shoes to paint on and people did not want to send their shoes to me. just food for thought
Thank you so much! Your thoughts are so appreciated! I have considered an Etsy.com shop actually! My only worry is copyright - I wonder if I would get into some trouble for selling these since the images don't belong to me. The pairs I've made so far were all gifts so money wasn't involved. We have a vans store where I live fortunately so I don't think supply would be an issue - just time :/ these take awhile and I'd hate to get way over my head. Is there a way to possibly cap how many you sell in a month through the website?
I was worried about copyright as well, but a lot of the things sold on Etsy are a form of infringement. For example, there is a lot of Harry Potter or Hunger Games jewelry. These are the same as your shoes. You really won't be making thousands at a time so it isn't that important to the publishing company. What is nice about the shops on Etsy is that you can show as much merchandise as you want. So if you don't want to be making shoes at the time you can just not list them in your store. Also there is a description under the picture so you can give an accurate time frame! I hope you get your store up and running
Alright cool! I just might do that then!! Thanks so much for the awesome advice!! Do you still have your store?? Looks like you have some pretty awesome stuff! Not gonna lie, I'd totally wear that Neville Longbottom shirt you made haha
